Project Detail/Project Brief:

Bangladesh has been using the information technology over the last decade. A large portion of the population is now enjoying this because of the accessibility welfare of mobile phones and the Internet. According to recent statistical analysis, about two billion people are now using Internet in Bangladesh. There are two and half million Bangladeshis are using social networking site, Facebook. But even with such a large number of people getting the benefits of this technology, it has not been possible to build a significant number of skilled manpower in this sector. Apart from this, there was not much opportunity for commercialization of the technology itself. Therefore, the present government has taken a number of far-reaching initiatives to create skilled manpower in the IT / ITES sector. We have a huge amount of manpower to convert some part of this manpower into an efficient sector in the IT field, just as a large amount of foreign currency can be earned, as well as. It will also be possible to fill up a lack of skilled manpower in the IT sector of Bangladesh.

The key to the modern message of technology is to create entrepreneurship and attract investors. The purpose of this industry is to transform our vast population into skilled human resources. The project “Establishment of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center” started under the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, with the promise of creating employment opportunities for about 12,000 people. The project Establishment of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center Project is the dream project of One of the visionaries of present government of building Digital Bangladesh of Honorable Prime Minister’s Information and Communication Technology Advisor Sajib Wazed Jai . This project was approved at the ECNEC meeting on 7th February 2017 and issued on 7 th March. The project areas of this project are Natore(Singra), Comilla(Lalmai),Chittagong City Corporation, Sylhet(Companyganj), Barisal Sadar, Magura Sadar and Netrokona Sadar. Each district has 6-stored building, where there will be level-1for free space, level-2 for Training center, level-3 for plug & play, level-4 for Start-up & incubation, level-5 for Business space, level-6 for sports, culture and social networking space.

Objectives of this project:

  • Development of human resources by building SSC and HSC level students as skilled manpower in IT.
  • Help to create entrepreneurship in the information and communication technology sector.
  • Establish a bridge between academia and the IT industry.
  • To create self-employment opportunities for the youth of Bangladesh in IT / ITES sectors.

Construction work is underway in 7 districts of this project. Implementation of the project in 7 districts will create a bridge between the academy and the industry. Skilled manpower is the real wealth of a country. Efficient, skilled manpower with the knowledge of emerging technologies can drive the economy fast for the dream of middle income country very soon. Implementing of this project skilled manpower will be created in technology sector and employment opportunities will be created also. For this Reason as the economic system gets richer, the way of life will change.

Under this project, the training subjects are Graphics Design, Video Editing, Videography, 3D/2D Animation, Search Engine Optimization, Digital Marketing, conducting e-commerce, Website Design and Web Application Development. About 10,000 more people will be trained also through this project which includes 500 female trainees. Later, as a result of this project, trainees will be able to get free training from every center on IT. The main commitment of honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build a knowledge-based digital Bangladesh through positive change in the quality of life of people of all sections of the society ensures maximum utilization of information and communication technology. This project will be transferred to the revenue sector and then trainees will be able to get free training from every IT training center.
